Part of SWPICS response to COVID 19 has been the provision of care packages to our pacific community. As we wanted to support our own local businesses rather than bulk providers, we chose to utilise our very own New World Tokoroa.
COVID 19 was an unprecedented global event that challenged what was ‘normal’. It therefore required different levels of approach, flexibility, empathy, and relationships that were tested. We wanted to acknowledge New World, Tokoroa its owners Viv and Karen Smith, and their amazing team who not only rose to this challenge but ensured that the work we were doing was supported as fully as they could, given their own supply constraints to the rest of our community.
